Cargo & Containers
Transmar continuously invests in containers that are used as a convenient way to ship goods that need to be handled by various modes of transport like vessels, trucks and rail cars. This type of interchange between carriers is called intermodal freight transport.
Transmar is keen to provide safe and reliable transport of all containerized cargo and follows all the requirements of the ISO as well as international regulatory safety standards and industry best practices.
We operate both the 20-foot containers; known as a TEU (20-foot equivalent unit), as well as the 40-foot containers; known as a FEU (40-foot equivalent unit). Once cargo is placed in our container, the container is sealed, locked and is not opened until it reaches its destination.
Over the past years, Transmar has been growing its container fleet consistently higher than the global average order book on equipment, and is expected to close 2022 with a fleet size of 22,000 TEU comprised of:
* 20ft standard dry
* 40ft standard dry
* 40ft high cube
* Reefer
Please note: The container specifications listed above are illustrative examples and may vary depending on the manufacturer. For any container-related questions please contact your customer experience officer.
Dry Cargo
Dry cargo service is the most popular solution, as it covers a range of commodities, from paper products, to cement to white goods, petrochemical products and food grade cargos. Standard dry containers can accommodate a wide spectrum of cargos in a diverse array of packaging, which includes palletized cargo or cargo stuffed in jumbo bags of various sizes.
Our teams in local offices are commodity experts in the region’s most traded dry cargo, and have a vast understanding of stuffing, lashing and managing dry cargo in our containers.
Reefer Cargo
Transmar has designed a comprehensive solution for refrigerated cargo whether frozen, chilled or perishable to ensure your cargo arrives safely at its port of discharge
